Have You Ever Held An "OSCAR"

Have you every wondered if an OSCAR was really heavy.......

"YES, IT IS"........

I saw Andrew Stanton receive his Oscar last night at the Academy Awards...but little did I know I would be holding that same Oscar today......He received his Oscar for "Wall-E"....he was just as nice as his beautiful SMILE....when he handed me his Oscar all I could think was "I'm holding an Oscar"...and..."Yes, it is heavy".....he sure made my day !!!!!!

"HOW I MET ANDREW STANTON"

I work for a wonderful airline and spend most of my working time at the airport.....we knew Andrew Stanton was coming in on a flight...... met him at the gate...when I saw him I congratulated him, introduced myself and asked if I could see his Oscar......it really was as simple as that.......of course he was very approachable and that SMILE was contagious.....a very nice man.....so bottom line..."I just asked".....

My Busy Week

This week has been a FUN busy one for me....

did you every have just have one of those weeks.....

I will start with today.....I have my granddaughter Nevaeh for part of the day....

we made this cute little flower arrangement for spring.....

the flowers are made of felt.......

I bought them at the 99 cents store....
gotta love that store....
sometimes they have really cute things for crafts....

On Thursday I went to Disneyland for the day......

if you have been reading my blog you know I go to Disneyland as often as I can.....

this time I went with my friend Victoria....
I think she loves it as much as I do.....
we had the best time...we flew out at 6 in the morning and did a Disney marathon until we arrived home at 10 that evening....
Fabulous Day!!!!!

I did find this cute little candle in Disneyland...
I know it has nothing to do with Disney....but I just couldn't resist it....I added the crystals....
the smell is FABULOUS......

Then on Wednesday my Hubby and I went to see the play "WICKED".....
he gave me the tickets as a Christmas present...best present ever....
we love going to plays.....

we took the train over to San Francisco after I got off work...
the play was at the Orpheum Theatre (built in 1926) on Market Street....
the train let us off right across the street.....
we had the best time.....

Pink Valentine Saturday

When we went on our mini vacation we come home through a cute town called Sutter Creek.... Gloria from "Happy to Be" told me about it...

so of course we had to check it out......

I did bring home a treasure.... a set of three mini Glass Cloches.....

Happy Valentines Day !!!!!!

these mini cloches are so darn cute......
I added the crystals , netting and the satin pink roses.....

I added this cute porcelain heart.....

a mini cream and sugar bowl......

and a little mini porcelain purse.....
I also put white rice on the bottoms of the glass
dishes just to give it a little more texture.....

and here you have a mini "Cloches Vignette"....
so glad we made that pit stop through Sutter Creek......

I Love Chandeliers

I am back from our mini get away and had a fabulous time...good friends and lots of fun......I did find one little treasure in Sutter Creek a little town we visited on our way home.....I will post it later this week.....

Well anyway....did you know I love Chandeliers......I have many or I should say a lot around my home....I thought I would show you just a few......you can click on any picture to make them bigger...I took the pictures at night and they are a little hard to see the detail..... :-)

this one is my newest....

I put it in my bedroom over the new Victorian mirror......
found this cute little chandelier ornament at Christmas time.....

table chandelier I found an an antique store a while ago...
I have it in my bay window in the living room.....

this one is hanging in my kitchen bay window.....
the shades were white...didn't like them white so I sprayed painted them pink...and added some beads....
I like them much better.....

made this chandelier a few years ago....painted it white and put lots of crystal and beads...made little white lace covers for the shades and added pink ribbon and roses.....found the tea cups at a little antique store for $1.00 each...what a deal....I hung them with pink ribbon and hung a crystal in the middle of the tea cup....


I painted the crystal's pink....
I thought they showed up better against the teacup

I added pink pearls and a hair ribbon on this chandelier....

I was so excited when I found this bird cage stand .....

I knew I wanted to hang a chandelier from it....

my Victorian bedroom chandelier...

I painted the roses on the ceiling medallion from Home Depot....

cottage bedroom chandelier......

gives the room such a romantic look.....

believe it or not ....I still have more....but that's all for now.....

Snow Bound

Going away for a few days....

I am sure some of you are tired of the snow...but where I live it is something we rarely see around the San Francisco Bay Area.....so it is a treat for us to see beautiful Lake Tahoe in all it's snow glory.....

we are going to celebrate a 70th birthday with some friends just outside Lake Tahoe....and lunch by the lake on Friday.......see you when I get back......

My "Wish Book"

I don't know about you but I have a lot of magazines....over the years I would love one picture and keep the magazine forever and when I wanted to see the picture I could never fine it after hours of searching....or there was a great idea that you wanted to try and again couldn't find the darn magazine the idea was in.....so a year or so back I couldn't take it any more and my "Wish Book" was born......

My "Wish Book"......

I put the pictures in plastic page covers from Office Depot....very inexpensive....
I would go through the magazines and tear the page out I wanted to keep......the little pile of pages on the left is about 12 to 15 magazines....amazing...I only had a hand full of pages and not a bundle of magazines.....


when I have some free time...which is rare...I love to have my coffee and just sit for an hour or so and go through and save my favorite pages.......


when they seem to pile up...I know it is time to have my little cup of coffee and tear away.....


another stack just waiting.......

now on the other hand....I save all the Romantic Country and Romantic Home because I like every page...hehe....

I like to separate my wish book into sections like garden, bedroom, kitchen etc......

The hard part is getting started.......

now I have a beautiful wish book of hundreds of magazines in one little book.....

of everything I love and no more searching for hours for that one little picture I just know was there.....

Just a little tip I thought I would pass along......

First 2009 Project

Remember this picture a few weeks ago of the Victorian Mirror......

one of my 2009 projects......

it is 95% done......

I still have to add a little molding to the top and sides......

and hide the wires from the chandelier...........

and here you have it......

it will have to wait a week or so before I get back to it to complete the project......

I have a few more things to finish in my bedroom before it is all done....just finding the time to finish it is my problem.....back to work I go.....I love my job...but I love doing my projects more.....
