Just Another Tray ????

I know this is just another serving tray ...but the colors stopped me in my tracks.....I was in Clovis, CA a few weeks ago in a very cute Antique store....this tray isn't an antique but the colors were just right for my living room .....I almost didn't buy it but at the last minute it made the trip home with me.....
I added this cute little heart and a garland of tiny pearls......

the trays new home is on my fireplace......

the soft pink and blue's are just perfect......

I also love the block night light...so very romantic at night....

Vintage Tin Lamp Redo

This was a VERY easy redo lamp....
I found this vintage TIN lamp...remember these...not sure of the year they were popular....
when I first saw it I thought for sure I would paint it....
but when I brought it home I love the vintage shabby pink color...
so of course I added some netting....made into a bow...
I love bows and netting....
and a crystal.....I think at one time this crystal was a Christmas ornament.....
and another net bow with (my favorite) pink satin roses....I love the color of the roses and the softness of the pink.....

THE BEFORE...
....I turned the shade around to hide the daisies...they were cute in their day but not my style at the moment.....I paid $14 for the lamp.....I love my new addition....you never know it may have a new home someday !!!!!!
Have a wonderful day...
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Sofa Project...One Year Already!!!!

It's been one year !!!!!!!
I thought I would share my sofa....I can not believe that it has been almost one years since I finished this slip cover project....
this is the after picture.....as you can see the ruffle is almost done on the side.....I couldn't find a sofa I really liked...well I did but it was over $2,000...HELLO.....now who has that kind of $$$$

I have never slipped covered anything before ...I thought how hard could it be....well is wasn't that it was hard to do ...but it was very time consuming...my motto was..."slow and steady"........

just different stages of my progress......this for sure was the half way mark .......I used quilts I bought at Marshall's and the dust ruffle was curtains to match....I just loved the soft colors.....

I loved my sofa...but very out dated and the floral print...what was I thinking back then...oh well at the time I loved it......

and here is the before in all it's glory......
Happy One Year Anniversary My Cute Little Sofa....

Mo :-)

Off Again !!!!!

We are off again !!!!!
This time Hubby and I are off to Dover, New Hampshire...We are also going into Maine and where every else the wind blows us....We are going to visit a very good friend of mine...Fran and her two little pups.....This is her beautiful yard...
one thing I love about back East is there are no fences on the properties.....

The reason there is this cute little picket fence around Fran's yard is because she has the cutest little pups......

I hope to return with some fabulous pictures of our trip......

Have a wonderful week...

Hugs,

Mo :-)

My Other Side

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved "OLD STUFF".....to me gently used or even well loved stuff has always appealed to me.....I have another side other than the fresh white shabby chic side...and that is Victorian....I want to share my guest room again with you.....
I love to welcome my guests with this cute little plaque on the bedroom door......

I love linens and lots of pillows.....this bed you just want to jump into...it is soooooo comfy...

Romantic lighting.....

the detail on this bed is incredible and so beautiful....it says look at me !!!!

just a little wall vignette.....

I love stuff and I have put a lot of it on top of this entertainment center I wanted to get rid of....I was going to paint it black but decided to keep the original oak...I put a TV and guest towels ...

here is a full view...I also put lace where the VCR would have gone....

I love this old Victorian mirror...now this mirror was well loved....I hung it over an old sewing machine table and it looks like a vanity table.....

here are the guest towels....

and a candle..just for a little romance.....
have a beautiful day,

A Pink Rose

"A Single Pink Rose"
What is it about a single pink rose that can make you feel so good....is it the soft pure pink color....or maybe what it can stand for......for me it is so romantic and calming......
I can have a room filled with pink roses..........
and never get tired of the romance behind it...it can make any room happy :-).....

Pretty Vinyl Lettering

It is very hard taking pictures of glass....but I think you will get the idea....
this is the very popular vinyl lettering...I am sure you have seen it or have been to a vinyl lettering party......they even have it at Michael's Craft store....
(I use this name for other projects)
I have this one hanging on my front porch.....Hubby had to hold something behind it just so you can read the lettering.....I change out the windows on the porch often...just for a different look....

this is the look at the moment....
I am sure it will not look like this next week.....
****************************************************
our last name starts with a "G" thus the letter "G".....

I put it on an old pink window ...I added the lace behind just so it could be seen......

I have this hanging in my soon to be painted kitchen.....

just a close up of the lettering....I love all the curves.....
there are so many things you can do with this...they also have cute saying you can put on your walls....it even pulls off when you want a change....or get tired of it....
have a wonderful day...
Hugs,
Mo ;-)

Where Did It Go !!!!!

Sorry, but this post has a mind of it's own today.....I have no idea what happened to it..or where it is......It is in blog heaven at the moment.....I hope I find it soon.
**************************************************************************
Update:
I found my post ...but it has all this weird lettering and symbols.....I haven't a clue what happened....I am trying to fix it....I am not a computer wizard...so this may take awhile....
In the mean time...have a wonderful day....

Mo :-)

Lamp Shade Cover

I wanted a bit of a softer look with my lamp shades in my living room....I found 2 curtain valances at the thrift store in a little town called Jackson on our way home last week...I paid $4.20 for both valances....
I put ribbon through the place where the curtain rod would go and tied it at the top with the robbon and just put it over the lamp shade....I love the new softer look....
this is the before....
I did the same with the Rachael Ashwell lamp shade with the other valance below...

the new softer look lamp shade just give my living room
that soft romantic look I love....

this is the before.... I still love my little bird house lamp...
I just gave it a bit of a new look....
and the great thing is I can change it back anytime....
***************************
a little side note: I also used some vintage jewelry....I pinned it to the ribbon at the top of the valence I used on the lamp....you might have to make the picture bigger to see it.....I have had the jewelry so long it is vintage now....so glad I can now reuse it again and enjoy it.....

Mo :-)

I have wanted a cute little table for the back of my sofa for a while....I never really went out looking for one I just knew someday it would find me...well it did......
it was love at first sight....just the right size and shape and yes it was OLD....someone had painted it years ago and I didn't do one darn thing to it...it fit perfectly in my small space......

Three New Looks

If I liked something in a certain place I would leave it there for years.....yes years.......

the 3 tiered silver cake stand came from the kitchen bay window...new home is now living room coffee table......
I did add a vintage pearl bow pin .......

silver tray and mercury glass came from living room coffee table and the tea pot and tea cup from my living room mantle......

I like it for a change on my kitchen table..... I added some pink roses in the tea pot...the smell is Fabulous!!!!!!

Love This Idea

I brought back a great idea from the wedding !!!!!!
*****************************
Cup Cake Wedding Cake!!!!! (not the idea)
This was my niece's wedding cake.....her very good friend make it for her wedding....there was almost 300 people there and what a great idea this was......

there were several flavors of cup cakes to choose from......
they cut the top layer for the bride and groom cake cutting....

this was a evening shot of the cake......
it was quite unique and beautiful.....

This was the grooms cake.....Al...Po'omai's new hubby loves to ocean fish..he caught all the fish for the wedding reception the day before the wedding....now that was some fresh fish....and the taste was Fabulous.....thus the fish grooms cake.....the pictures do not do it justice...very clever.....
******************************************
NOW HERE IS THE GREAT IDEA !!!!!!!!
you know how $$$ fancy cup cake liners can be......
well here is a great idea for pennies....take a paper doily......

cut the outer lace part of the doily.........

cut the paper lace to fit your cup cake...
I used my fake cute cup cake.....

you can make the cup cake liners for pennies....
you can buy the paper doilies at the dollar store....I used 10 inch doilies

all of the cup cakes liners on the wedding cake were made this way.....
now how cute is this idea.....
this idea will always remind me of her wedding...
Hugs,
Mo :-)
**********************************************

A Bit Of Black

My friend Sharon and I went to Santana Row in San Jose last Friday....dumb me I forgot my camera.....well anyway we dined outside and had a Fabulous lunch...the weather was gorgeous.....
I didn't go to do any shopping ..but that is always the way...
that is when you find something......I found this fabulous tea light holder....
I have always loved a bit of Black here and there...

it is kind of hard to see but there are 2 pieces of glass with a silhouette of a candelabra on both sides ...then in between there is a place to put 3 tea lights.....

this was a no brainer for me...I loved it immediately.....

I found it at Z Gallerie....I thought the price was right at $20...
very dramatic and romantic at the same time.....
and the best part is..I love it in any room.....

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday....

Tea Cups & Herbs

I can see my wicker patio table from our family room....every summer I set it for summer....I put herbs in my cute little tea cups my daughter gave me years ago...
I had extra pink napkins so out they went on the table......

and cute little pink glasses......

a little color......

love the spring plates...had them for years...

I put the spring plates on the lace ones from Ross I bought last month.....

so sweet.....

More Cottage Garden

What can I say...Mika just wanted to be part of this post today.....
this is the potting table I bought at the Country Folk Art Show...at the same time I bought the headboard bench.....a local man and his wife are retired and make beautiful little things and sell them for VERY reasonable prices......
it is small and doesn't take up much room on our patio.......

it just gives that part of our patio that cottage look I love.....

Mika wants me to make sure you see the brick she helped us clean....
Thank You Mika......

where is Mika......

Oh there she is....
I love the pickets and window he used on the potting table....

the little watering can and potting bowl came with the table....
I just thought this watering can was soooooo cute....

Our Foxgloves are just in the middle of blooming....
Hubby planted them 2 years ago...and they just keep reseeding....
such an old fashion plant...love it....

I let the Foxgloves go crazy this year.... no rhyme or reason just doing what every they want...they even seeded themselves in the wheel barrel this year...I kinda like for a change....

this is how we get to our Secret Garden from our back garden....this path is in between our storage shed and house....stepping stones and baby tears....just so sweet....

and into our Secret Garden...our garden is doing great this year...
I love sitting back here

all for now....Mika enjoyed her time with you today.....
I think she is posing.....
NO, I am sure she is posing.......she is such a ham !!!!!
Have a wonderful day...

Our Cottage Patio

Hubby and I cleared off the patio and cleaned and scrubbed the brick....during the winter months it gets a lot of moss and it is beautiful until it dies down...thus the clean and scrub.....lots of work but worth it...thank goodness it is only once a year.....
gate painted...all ready for summer.......

do you get back door guests????...we do...
my little birdhouse chalk board welcomes them.....

and of course bunny keeps watch and makes sure everything stays Pink and green.....
tomorrow a little bit more of our cottage patio...

Lazy Day Swing

Wanna read or take a nap.....I sure did after all our hard work this past weekend.....
I also had a nice cup of tea as well.....I treated myself with the silver tea set and a great tea cup...don't tell any one but I really did fall asleep.....

I have been collected pillows here and there for a while......I love a beautiful pillow....
I do change the pillows around a lot...when the grand kids come over....the pillows are a bit more kid friendly....I will share of picture of that look another time......

I love white wicker.....

Gotta Love Layering

Sorry, but I didn't make my bed.....
I thought how silly to make my bed just to take a picture of the before.....
I have wanted to layer my bed to cover the wood sideboard....
I have been looking for a dust ruffle and everything I liked was over $50 and under $100...no way...who has the $$$ just to cover a little bit of wood....well, I found the Battenburg Lace dust ruffle .....and where else....Home Goods for $7.99

I love how it cover the bit of the wood sideboard......

if you wait long enough something always turns up.....
plus I love Battenburg Lace...just so crisp, cozy and Romantic looking......

Mo :-)

Shabby Chic Window

I am still moving things around...I moved this hall bench to our cozy foyer....it looks like that piece was made for that cozy area.....my living room is really coming together....the only other BIG project is painting all the wood trim and doors...not a big deal just a little time consuming....
all the little treasure rest on top of the shelf.....

what I wanted to show you was this cute little Shabby Chic window with the cute saying....."Live Simply" ...I love the pale Pink roses on either side

this cute little window was half off from the J C Penney Catalog.....I paid $20 for it....

they day it arrived I had the perfect spot to put it....
my little cozy foyer opens it's arms with a big friendly Welcome.....
Have a wonderful Weekend...
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Paint Project # 3

Third and final paint project this week....I found this coffee table on a walk a few years ago...it was in the trash and ready for pick up....well....I saved it...it had no top but a lot of charm.....I walked almost 3 miles with this little table......it was just time to give it a new life.....
a little TLC and a little paint....
a new table top and here you have my new coffee table in the family room....
the table top is a mosaic mirror I bought at Ross about 2 plus years ago...
it fit just perfect.....

I LOVE the legs on the table...

it is small and just right in my cozy family room.....

the tag is still on the back of this mirror mosaic...
I only paid $19 for this....all that work for $19....amazing....

I just love when things come together.....table free....
paint I had and table top $19...that really makes me happy.....
Have a wonderful day...
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Chandelier Tins

Here are the chandelier tins I bought on our vacation when we went to Alexandria...I finely found a home for them...
I put them above the re do painted chest in the living room..
I had a clock there now it is moved to my kitchen...

I only used three of the chandelier tins

I put a bit of pink ribbon to hang them with....

I like the tins there...nice for a change....
I took this picture before I changed the pretties on the little chest....
but doing all this painted furniture has really opened a can of worms...now I want to paint all the wood molding...but I have wanted to do that for a while.....
will it ever end???
tomorrow paint project # 3
have a great day...
Hugs,
Mo :-)
