Picket Fences

Why is it that a picket fences is so welcoming.......cozy....homey... and inviting.....
the next three pictures are of my friend Fran's picket fence...she lives in Dover NH.....I love her yard.....

but this picket fence in the picture below inspired this post....we were in the old part of Niles,CA (it is where they filmed the old silent movies) on Saturday and we were walking back to our car via some side streets with very old charming homes...... we walked by this picket fence...I loved how it was rounded on the top.......I wanted to share how cute it was.......

all of the pictures featured below are from Flickr....I guess I am not the only one that loves Picket fences...there were over 11,000 pictures to choose from.... here a just a few I found charming.....

Have a wonderful Monday....
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Oh pretty, yes there is something magical about them. I would have a ball in your friends year planting all up and down that fence!

I was thinking the same thing as Country Mom...so magical and storybooklike. I have always wanted to live on street lined with hugh trees nestled along fences.

We have a picket fence in our front yard that my husband built and I never get tired of looking at it. The ones you've featured are the epitome of charming!

I love white picket fences. I've always wanted to live at a home with one.
Your friend's yard and fence are really breath taking. What a beautiful neighborhood she lives in.
That rounded picket fence is pretty neat. I would love to tour that neighborhood.

I love all pictures of the picket fences. For me they are so great because it makes your garden a secret garden, and you are curious what is behind the fences. There must be a lot of flowers behind the fences in beautiful colors.

I had always wanted a white wooden picket fence and it was one of the first things we did when we moved in. Great pictures!

I love your collection of picket fence photos...they're all gorgeous! We have had one in different locations in our farmhouse yard, right now it's around the garden. Somehow, on the right house, it's like the finishing touch! I love your blog and if you don't mind, I'm going to have a look around!

dear mo,
the white picket fence to me is like when a masterpiece is almost completed and the artist outlines some of the picture to make it pop...that is what i love about a picket fence....it makes everyone look at the home and stand amazed at its' awesome beauty. a picket fence is just a great love of mine
your posts are just like calgon...they take us away, however briefly, to a beautiful, magical place.
thanks for sharing mo
hugs

Decorative fences can thus be used to provide you with both privacy or security and a stylized appeal without having to cost you a fortune.
