Slip Cover Project !!!!!

I took a little break from my blog just to catch up on a few things....now I seem to have a little more time for fun things......and to catch up with my blog friends......
************************
I have been working on a NEW project.....I'm slip covering my sofa......I can sew and have been for years but slip covers is another story.....I though to myself how hard can it be......I found these quilts at Marshalls and fell in love with the colors.....so I bought all they had a while back and just waited until I had the energy to attack this project....I'm just taking my time and really enjoying my sewing adventure.....
So far I have made the back cushions...not a problem thank goodness....very basic....
They were fairly easy....I just made a pattern and sewed........

I really like the way it is turning out so far.....now on to the cushions....I think I have it figured out how to do them...I'm tackling them next...then the sofa it self.....
I hope it will look something like this when I'm done....just slow and steady....wish me luck....
This is the BEFORE....."very dated" but I just love the lines of this sofa.....
I will keep you up dated as I go along....
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Your project is looking good so far. You have taken on a big one for sure. I've been wanting to recover a wing back chair since 2004 I think and I still have not done it. It is covered with a pink blanket though.

Hi Mo,
I bought the same pillow covers and I could kick myself I kept looking at the other accessories to match and I passed them up now they don't have anymore. Your couch is going to be so pretty when your finished with it. My Mom also sews but she is afraid to do the slipcovers, I guess when your used to making things fit perfectly it is hard to change your way of sewing. Good luck and I can't wait to see it all done!

WoW! That's going to be gorgeous! Super sweet!

I'm re-doing ours too. Blondie started it, but now that she's gone, I've got to finish it up. I have all the fabric. It's just a matter of time. Isn't that how it always is? Time, time, time. LOL

Have a great weekend!

WOW...I can hardly wait for the big 'Reveal'. The pillows alone are gorgeous!!! I have a friend who makes slipcovers all the time and talks like it's not as hard as people make it out to be.
Good Luck!

Your sofa is going to be lovely, lovely, lovely! We have a sofa that is even more dated than that! It is flowered with the orange and brown colors of the 70s, but the sofa is in excellent condition and so comfy. I would LOVE to make slipcovers for it, but haven't the foggiest idea how to do so. It is a small sofa, and they just don't make slipcovers for that size anymore. One of these days I'll figure out what to do, and your project has inspired me!
