Lamp Shade Cover

I wanted a bit of a softer look with my lamp shades in my living room....I found 2 curtain valances at the thrift store in a little town called Jackson on our way home last week...I paid $4.20 for both valances....
I put ribbon through the place where the curtain rod would go and tied it at the top with the robbon and just put it over the lamp shade....I love the new softer look....
this is the before....
I did the same with the Rachael Ashwell lamp shade with the other valance below...

the new softer look lamp shade just give my living room
that soft romantic look I love....

this is the before.... I still love my little bird house lamp...
I just gave it a bit of a new look....
and the great thing is I can change it back anytime....
***************************
a little side note: I also used some vintage jewelry....I pinned it to the ribbon at the top of the valence I used on the lamp....you might have to make the picture bigger to see it.....I have had the jewelry so long it is vintage now....so glad I can now reuse it again and enjoy it.....
Hugs,
Mo :-)

Great idea. I also heard of taking a sweet little vintage baby/girl slip and using that. So now I am on the look out for both.

Hi,

I love your idea of the valances on the lamp shade! I put a big round doily over mine, and I liked that, but-----I love YOUR idea much better!!The vintage jewelry is a perfect touch! I just started my own blog. Come and say hello when you get a chance.

My parents live near Jackson! I made some of your doily cupcake wrappers and put them on my blog today and linked to yours. Mine didn't turn out as nice though...I'm not sure why. They still looked pretty though!

Hi Mo, I just wanted to come by and thank you for the sweet comments you left about my dog Harley. I really appreciate your taking the time to do that... On a lighter note...I absolutely love you lamp shade valances! I just may have to borrow that idea! Take care and have a safe and happy 4th of July celebration!

What a lovely touch by adding a little something to spruce up a room, which by the way is already so sweet and romantic.

These are gorgeous Mo!! Did you see the lace covers in the recent Victoria Trading cat? They want like $40 or something ridiculous and yours are much prettier. Well done!
